The Age of Exploration

The Age of Exploration was a period between 1418 to 1620, where European ships sailed across the ocean in search of new trading routes and ideas. When Christopher Columbus, one of the most important explorers, went out to sea to try to head to Asia, instead sailed west from Europe to the Americas, otherwise known by the "New World." By this happening, it led more European nations to evolve to the Americas to claim land to themselves. Other European nations that sent out ships for overseas exploration was Portugal, who lives King Henry "the Navigator," who was one of the most important explorers of the Age because he was the man who encouraged people to trade and direct many explorations, though he himself was not an explorer, but a king. Another Portugal explorer, Bartolomeu Dias, was most important because he was the first explorer to go around the southern tip of Africa, which then gave other explorers motive for sailing.
Why did the Europeans send the ships? Well, the sent them because they wanted to find new trade routes and wanted more knowledge, adventure and also to spread Christianity. This is because in the east it was hard, difficult and expensive. Muslims and Italians controlled the flow of trade and Muslims closed trade routes from Asia to Europe, making it even more difficult for the Europeans. So then they had an idea! Europeans then wanted to find a sea route to Asia, instead of a route on land. This is why they sent the sailers to sea.
Exploration affected the economy of European nations mostly because it helped them succeed by trading not only food but porcelain, jewels, silk, and incense, making the economy of Europe to be much more active, also it contributed to the growth of capitalism. Though exploration was not the only thing that affected Europe, but it was also from discoveries and colonies. Discoveries affected the economy of European nations because more things were invented that led to advances in Europe.  Also colones affected the colony of European nations because the exploration grew larger, forcing it to expand throughout other colonies, also because other colonies looked up to one another to supply raw materials and items.
New discoveries affected relationships between European nations from cartography, the art and science of mapmaking. This improved the relationship because then they found other lands. Another discovery was the improved compass. This made navigators find where their going for directions to other nations. Also, the cannon. This helped Europe because you could fire it without getting out of their ship. Native people were often no match for European guns, armor and horses.
If I was living in Europe during the Age of Exploration, live would be very different. My life would of been affected because there wouldn't be most of the technology we have now. For example.. the phone, computer, iPod and the use of transportation.  From new discoveries, I would of probably have taken advantage of them, just like I have been now. If I was born during the Age of Exploration, I would of probably learned how to sail my own ships and to ride a horse, but I would be definitely be missing out on todays world. :)

Europe Transformed

The major factors that contributed to the decline of the Western Europe Empire was from harsh battles, diseases and Christianity. But why did it decline is the question that needs to be answered, and no one knows the real fact, but some have knowledge or facts that fit like a puzzle piece to the real idea of why it fell. One reason that caused the decline was from battles.
Though Rome was powerful at a time, it soon came to an end by harsh battles and fights from different areas. For example, around 372 A.D, the Visigoths found out that the Huns were coming on their territory, so instead of settling in, they fought, which made lots of Romans die immediately or suffer and die soon after. But not only did Romans population decline from attacks, they also declined by diseases.
In todays time, you could drive to the hospital at any time and be fixed up with good medicine, but during the time when the Western Europe Empire declined, you couldn't just drive up to the hospital and get fixed up with good medicine because they didn't have the right technology back then. Many Romans suffered from diseases because they didn't have the right medicine to uses yet. Disease and battles contributed to the decline of the Western Europe Empire, but also did Christianity.
In Rome, many people converted into Christianity. When they were converted to Christianity, it became more famous and attracted. Romans soon became well into Christianity that they got distracted by the real world. Many Romans went to Church to praise God but soon forgotten their orders. Western Romans devoted to Christianity that made life harder for them. Christianity made military and education to be forgotten and many Romans that didn't convert got mad and angry. One reason why the Western Europe Empire fell was by the rough battles and arguments from the religion. Harsh battles, disease and Christianity were some of the major factors that made Europe fall.
Western Europe was transformed by the problems in the West. Rome was transformed by adding Senate houses, and the Catholic church. Because of the collapse, Romans didn't have any emperors, but Popes who lived there. Rome was transformed by the one-man rule of the emperor who decided to change the place of Rome.  =)

Contributions

If a Muslim was an astronomer, they should learn and use the telescope. It is useful because astronomers are scientists that study the planets and stars, and planets and stars are way far away, making the telescope a useful object because it lets you see things that are very far away. The telescope had a long term impacts because it traveled across the world and is very advanced now these days.

If a muslim was a scholar, they should learn and use the Qur'an. It is useful because it teaches Muslims about their religion and gods. They should read it because it would give them better knowledge and understanding of the holy book. The Qur'an has a long term impact because it began when Muhammad was still alive and Muslims still use it today.

The Life and Teachings of Muhammad

This is a picture of many people honoring Muhammad.
Muhammad was born in Mecca but then when 6, his mother gave him to nomads and was taught and learned by them. In his 30s, Muhammad got the "message" from god while being in a cave in Mount Hira saying that he should be a prophet of god, which he then turned into. Muhammad then found a group and began a new religion, Muslim. Muhammad taught people to believe in only one god and to respect and honor others around them, but even though some people didn't approve of his teachings, he still fought in his belief.

Arabia before Muhammad

Before Muhammad was born, Arabian society was divided into many social levels. Women, for example, were highly cherished and protected that it lead to bloody fights, just to protect the women. Not only did they just fight for women's protection, but they also fought for freedom between cities and countries.
Mecca, a religious center, was not only a place for religion, but was also a trading spot. Many people traded goods from the Mediterranean to South Arabia, East Africa, and South Asia.
Mecca was the one place that Muhammad was known for, for he has shaped and changed Arabia to be a better place.
